Our homes are designed and constructed for comfort and easy navigation for people with Alzheimers disease and related dementias. They have spacious, private suites, each with a half bath. There are large rooms for group activities. Specifically designed Victorian furniture is used throughout. Building and program design maximize independence and dignity. Cuing by staff, program and environment constantly remind residents who and where they are. Way finding assistance is available throughout the home. Purposeful tasks, physical activities and mental stimulation are provided in a failure free way. Memory boxes at the entrance to each suite help residents identify themselves and loved ones.
Bathing is accomplished in a safe and accomodating environment. By using a specialized bathing system and a shower with no threshold, regular washing is provided. A beautician salon sink and chair make hair care easy. The back yard is flat and secure. The yard provides ample opportunity for outdoor exercise and gardening activities. The covered back deck and attractive private patio has many non-toxic colorful plant and flower arrangements in the warm months.
