In brief the social model of care put emphasis upon the individual not the institution. Residents have their own private suite, access to the kitchen, dinning room, living room, patio or porch. Residents are provided autonomy in their daily activities; when they take their bath or shower and how often. Cooking, gardening, house hold chores or just relaxing they can participate in activities to the best of their abilities and interests. When they need help or just a little reminder a staff member is there to assist. |
